Don Swann was an American artist born in 1889. He studied art in Rome and Munich and lived in Baltimore until his death in 1954.
Much of his work is in the permanent collections of the U.S. Naval Museum, the Smithsonian, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Library of Congress, as well as many private collections. His work included schools, universities, ships, trees, and a U.S. Navy series.
This small etching is titled Lee Rail Under is signed by the artist and numbered 98 of 300. The piece is double matted in grey, silver tones and framed under glass in a silver metal frame. The etching is in very good condition. This piece would display very well with a new frame and matting.
