This is a striking wall hanging, signed by the artist in syllabics (lower left side). Made from qiviut (muskox wool), muskox hair and floss.

Six Inuit women and children walking, with Northern Lights in the background.  In excellent, vintage condition.

About Qiviut

Qiviut is a rare and wonderful natural fibre harvested from arctic muskox by the Inuit. The website Nunavut Qiviut is a great resource if you're interested in learning more about qiviut, which was used in the creation of this tapestry.
