Royal Crown Derby Imari Style Penguin Paperweight

The penguin paperweight figurine is one of the first six introduced by Royal Crown Derby in 1981. It was retired in 1992. It likely would have had a ceramic stopper. At the time, paperweights intended for the US market were required by Customs to be shipped with their stoppers removed.  First quality pieces of the penguin figurine are therefore often found without their stopper.

This penguin figurine is in excellent, vintage condition. The ceramic stopper is missing. There are no chips, cracks, marks or repairs. Modeled by Robert Jefferson, decorated by Brian Branscombe. Hand painted with gold accents in 22 ct gold.
