Gaetan Hovington, Wood Sculpture, Elderly Man

This is a wonderful carving by Gaëtan Hovington of Quebec, Canada.  A hand carved wooden sculpture of an elderly gentleman in a sweater, vest and tie with a cane.  Details in his face and hands are perfect. Signed by the artist on the base. I'm unsure of the type of wood but it is in excellent condition. 

Hovington trained at the Bourgault school in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec, and is well known for carving Québécois people in every day life. His carvings are always in the round and usually larger sized.
