Johnson Brothers-Old Britain Castles (8)

With A Past

Lovely, old, vintage 5 piece place setting, with the old crown markings. Old Britain Castles by Johnson Brothers. Each piece is in exceptional condition. Although likely manufactured in the 1950's, this set doesn't appear to have been used. There are no signs of wear, fading, chips, cracks or crazing.

Johnson Brothers received Royal Warrants in the 1950's from Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother for their designs of Old Britain Castles tableware, and some of these pieces are marked accordingly. This set is a rare find.  Manufactured in Stoke-On-Trent, England. The Old Britain Castles pattern is still being produced, however it has been manufactured in China since 2004.
